Bestfriend

Luiza is her name. She is my bestfriend since 3 years ago and I can say that we have a good friendship. Although, before she became my friend, we had already known each other, but, actually, I didn't like her. She had some friends that I really hated. They were the kind of people who just talked about the others' lifes. For this reason, I made a wrong conclusion and deduced that Luiza was like them.
But I wasn't right. Slowly I got to know her well and I realized that Luiza was a wonderful person and she had a really interesting talk. Nowadays, our conversations flow like we are on the same wavelenght and we never have to hunt around for things to say because we always have a point to talk about.
Since we started to talk more, we have become more and more friendly. Now, I consider her my bestfriend and even our mothers are friends too. We hang out every weekend, sleep ineach others' houses, study together and tell our secrets.
I can say she is the most special friend because she stays with me not only in the best moments, but in the worst too. A good example was when my grandmother was succumbing to cancer and she stayed with me all the time. Besides that, she really trusts me and helps me not to give up trying what I want. We have almosteverything in common, that's why I think we never had a serious argument. However, if we had had a fight, we would have continued to be bestfriends, because our friendship is stronger than any argument.

My Brother

My brother and I have been related to each other since I was born. He's really older than me, six years to be exact, so when we were younger we didn't get along very well. Actually we fought a lot and it took us years to start enjoying each other's company and to discover that we like the same things and have some opinions in common.

What I like the most about him and also admire is that he is very conscious and responsible. Besides he is really helpful, always when I need some help in school subjects, I can count on him. I like his sense of humor too, it's impressive how his conversations always flow because of it.
On the other hand, we have some points of disagreement. He likes some things that I hate, besides our gap of age sometimes really makes the difference. However, I've learneda lot with him, for example, how to be more patient and be more optimistic.

We don't always agree with things but our relationship improved a lot with the years. We don't fight too often anymore and nowadays we are able to give advice to each other if it's necessary.

My mom

Since I was born, my mother has been an idol for me, not only because she was the one that was more aware of what was happening in my life, but also because she was responsible for teaching me values. Despite our difference of age, my mother and I have many things in common, such as our responsibility, punctuality, optimism and politeness. Furthermore, biologically speaking, we are also very similar in terms of diseases and appearance.

What I most like about my mother is her sense of humor and patience. No matter what happens in her life she is always smiling and ready to help you solving your problems. The only thing I complain about my mother is her obsession with organization. There hasn’t been a time when she entered my bedroom and didn’t complain about my disorganization. Fortunately, since we are always on the same wavelength, when I talked to her that taking care of my bedroom was my responsibility and not hers she accepted the idea well and decided to stop worrying about how my bedroom looked.

However, in these sixteen years of daily contact it’s impossible for us not to have had any disagreements. I remember that, when I was younger, I didn’t use to be good at math, so that my mother decided to put me at Kumon. As a child, I didn’t want to lose my afternoons going to Kumon and there was no way for me to accept what she was proposing to me. That was the only time when we had a terrible argument. I couldn’t get across my point of view and neither she could. I also had a really hard time getting a word in edgewise and started crying, which made my mother change her opinion. Despite this argument, my mother and I usually have the same opinion and tastes. That’s why we usually have a conversation that flows, especially when we are talking about our favorite topics, such as trips and celebrities.

It’s been a long time since my mother and I started being friends, however, only a few things have changed on our relationship. We still like going to the same places, but nowadays we don’t play those child games that we used to play in the past, we prefer to play cards with the rest of the family. No matter what happens my mother will always be my best friend and the most special person in my life.

My brother

My brother and I have been related to each other since he was born but -actually- we have only known each other since I was seven years old. We are only one year apart in age, but we have really different tastes and interests. So, we never agree about anything. Even talking about physical characteristics, we are different from each other, because he is white, blond and has green eyes while I am black and have brown eyes.

I really hate my brother, he is always disturbing me, he never answers me, he always tries to disrupt when he knows that I’m doing something important and he denounces me to my mother me when I break a rule. Also, something else that I really dislike in Mateus, that is my brother’s name, is his conversational style because he always does all the talking and never lets me to put a word in edgewise, this really bothers me. However, I think that these situations belong to a passing phase, because we are only teenagers and everything will probably change.

I really admire my brother because he doesn’t give up make his dreams turn into reality. Furthermore, I also learned with him to come up with simple and great approaches to solve some seemingly hopeless situations.

When we were five years old we used to be friends and to play a lot together. So, I wish we could in our future be as close as we were in the past.

Flávio Malta Fleury

My brother and I have known each other since I've born. We are twelve years apart in age however we have some things in common. Actually, I think that I am his female copy.

Léo is very optimistic, friendly and generous. He is the perfect brother, an example of son, a wonderful father and a great husband. He has good arguments and the talent to conquer other people. In addition, he is very good with computers. That's why he is an exemplary worker. He is always trying to do things for people's happiness and the interesting thing is that he obtains that. Leonardo is the most determined person I have ever met. Although, he has a throat allergy and does a strange noise to scratch it. Sometimes, it bother's me. My brother knows me very well so it's easy to make conversation with him. Because we are in the same wavelength, neither of us has to do all the talking.

I can't say that we had a true disagreement because once, I was only angry with him. When he came back from Rio, he didn't give me attention. and I was jealous because he was just with my sister-in-law. But then, I understood that he was worried. That's why he wasn't giving me a lot of attention. Well, I like to talk about everything with him. Léo is my confident and I can count on him. For example, he taught me about life, boys and family too. He has always been by my side. So, he helps me with my decision, doubts and a lot of other things.

I think that before he married we were closer and I'm really sorry that things have changed. But I know he loves me and wouldn't leave me. I hoot for that one day we can be like we used to be.

The Capital of Brasil

Brasilia is known for its buildings and architecture. The buildings are differently designed, not similar to anything I have ever seen. Actually, it was the first city to be planned before being built, and the most famous architect that worked in it is still alive, Oscar Niemeyer. Brasilia is “organized” in blocks, numbered from 1 to 16 in South Wing and 1 to 16 in North Wing, and we say that the bus station is the zero mark of Brasilia, because you start counting the blocks there.

Besides its beauty, Brasilia is also dangerous. Never should you go out at night alone and under no circumstances should you go to alleys. You may be robbed or mugged. Unpleasantly, a lot of shanty towns are growing near Brasilia, and the violence is growing and growing. Even so, Brasilia is a good place to live or visit because of its tourist attractions like the TV Tower, The Congress and JK Memorial. If you are a teenager you will enjoy going to Pontão, Pier 21 and nightclubs like Limni and Pixy, where you can hang out with friends or dance. In addition, Brasilia has lots of excellent restaurants like Porcão, Camarão and Chique-Chique. They’re famous for its delicious food and localization, the restaurants are big, not noisy, and the waiters are kind, but they’re a little pricey. Under no circumstances should you leave Brasilia without eating there because you can’t say you eat well in Brasilia until you visit these restaurants.

If you’re looking for a city to live ou visit, you should take Brasilia into consideration. The people are kind, the food is excellent and the city is wonderful! You enjoy yourself a lot and I'm sure Brasilia won't disappoint you.

There is no doubt Curitiba is one of the cities with the best quality of life in Brazil. People who arrive there get really impressed with the efficiency of the public transportation and with the amount of green areas all over the city. Curitiba also offers a great variety of touristic places to visit, like the “Jardim Botânico”, the “Torre Panorâmica” and the “Relógio das Flores”. The good news is that there are some tourism buses that take the visitors to all these sights for only R$16,00 each.

On Sundays, the Curitiba inhabitants usually go to one of the most traditional fairs in the city called “Feira do Largo da Ordem”. Actually, it is an outdoor market that opens every Sunday from 9 AM to 2 PM. For its big variety of products (food, paintings, toys, books, clothes), many tourists also like to go there even if just to watch the local artist’s presentations.

Though the city can be compared to Paris and to London because of its awe-inspiring gardens and its bold architecture, Curitiba faces many social problems like the growing number of beggars in the streets and the amount of shanty towns around the urban area. Visiting all those wonderful sights, hardly any tourist notices this dark side of the city. For the inhabitants, however, all these social problems are the government’s fault that doesn’t come up with a solution.

Even so, visiting Curitiba is an experience everyone should have. It’s hard to believe there is an almost first world city in the south of Brazil. In addition, Curitiba offers fun for all kind of people, from teenagers to elders. Actually, what makes the city so special is its two different sides: one of the fun with all the agitated night life, and one of the rest with all that calm and beautiful nature. Curitiba is clearly the right place to go on a vacation: no matter what you want, you will find the solution there.

Orlando

The first time I traveled abroad was on my last vacation. I took two flights to arrive in Orlando with my parents and my older brother. Although, it is a very wearisome trip, when you arrive in the city, you become marveled and it's worth it.

The city appears to be known thanks to the Disney parks. However, that isn't all the city has to offer. There are a lot of outlets where you can buy things, that are usually expensive for great prices. In addition, there is absolutely no doubt that Orlando doesn't have the horrible traffic we have in Brazil, even though there are a lot of tourists.

On the other hand, the city is said to be enormous and all the tourist attractions are far away from each other so, it is necessary to rent a car for those who go without a tour company. Moreover, you shouldn't travel without a GPS, because, besides big, the city is considered to be confusing, and the streets, different from those in which we are used do drive in Brazil.

Orlando has its problems, like any other city. However, it is a good place to visit for children and also for adults.
I really recommend it.

Brasília

Brasília is known by their monuments and to be a planned city. “Catedral”, “Teatro Nacional”, “Praça dos Três Poderes” are the most important ones. They were all projected by Oscar Niemeyer and they are still considered modern. In addition, Brasília is considered a cultural patrimony of humanity and it is assumed that the city receives 1 million tourists by year. Also, the most visited monuments are the “Palácio da Alvorada” and the “Congresso Nacional”.
Brasília is the capital of Brazil. As a capital, important relations happen in the city. It is believed that Brasília is one of the most important cities of Brazil because it is a business center, most of the world’s country embassies are located in Brasília and it also has the second largest gross domestic product (GPD) of Brazil. A big business in the city is buying houses, offices, properties in general, because of the soaring valorization rate.
On the other hand, the city has problems to face. There is no doubt that the haphazard suburbs of the city are dangerous. But the problems are not only in the tacky suburbs, our grubby bus station is a shame for a capital, it is not acceptable that the government leaves it the way it is. It is also known that Brasília has corrupt politicians, we had a recent example with the governor Arruda.
Nevertheless, it is generally agreed that people who love architecture would enjoy Brasília because it has many monuments and a great history behind it. The sunset in Pontão would be a beautiful program for couples. Brasília has great places to go at night, there are many safe nightclubs around the city that attract teenagers. People that come to Brazil to observe the nature, won’t be disappointed with Brasília, it has amazing places around town that can be visited. There is no doubt that everybody will love Brasília. Come and enjoy with us!

Sources seem to suggest that New York it's beautiful and a great place to live. A city with lots of places to go out and have fun. Like Time Square where you can go to Broadway to see the amazing musical shows. New York is also known for the style of the citizens. That's something that people admire a lot.
Every year a lot of famous rock bands and musicians make wonderful concerts. In USA, tickets are low-priced if you compare with other countries. And according to fans who go to concerts in USA and in foreign contries, the USA shows are more amusing and cheaper.
There is no doubt that New York is an amazing city to live, though very violent. When the sun goes down and the night comes; the robbers attack. And it's not safe to stay in the streets at night.
In addition people who love fashion clothes, elegant stores and exciting street, New York is the right place to go and have a good time.

Curitiba

Curitiba is the capital of Paraná. It has a harmonic architectural and urban's development. Curitiba is the biggest city in the south region and the seventh most populous city in the country. It's famous for it's monuments and parks. Some of the most famous landmarks are the "Jardim Botânico", "Parque Tanguá" and the "Torre da Telepar". Also the city is recognized by its "Ópera de Arame" which is made of metallic structures that look like the wire's fragility. Besides that, the city is known for its technological investments which make it one of the most important technology centers in the country.
Curitiba has already been one of the best cities in Brazil to realize events and things related to tourism. "Festival de Teatro" is a theater festival that presents international and national plays every year. It's is interesting because theater is and has always been a cultural thing. In addition, Christmas is a big event there too. A lot of people go there to see the decoration and the teen's coral singing Christmas' songs in the center of the city.
Curitiba is almost the perfect city because it also has its problems resulted from the population's growth. The violence and the crimes have increased in the last years. There's insufficient water. There's pollution of the rivers and lots of people live in the streets.
Even so, people who love museums, monuments and cold and technological places will love Curitiba. During the day, they can do a tour in the city. At night, they can go to theaters, to shopping mall and restaurants. It's impossible to be there and do nothing.

Dubai: the city that shows that nothing is impossible

There is no doubt that the most modern city in the world is Dubai. It is famous for its futuristic architecture that consists in huge skyscrapers and bold buildings. One of the most famous buildings of Dubai is the Burj Kalifha; it is the tallest skyscraper in the world, 828 meters tall, that can be seen about 100 kilometers away. Also, another landmark of this modern city is the Burj Al Arab hotel that is the most luxurious hotel in the world and it was built on an artificial island having the shape inspired by the sail of a boat. In addition, the city has its fame because of the archipelago The World and The Palm Islands that are artificial islands whose formats are, respectively, of a world map and palm trees.

Dubai has become one of the most important cultural and sporting capitals of the world due to the large number of international events that happen in the city. The major events that occur in Dubai are the Dubai Tennis Open, the Dubai International Jazz Festival that gathers the greatest jazz artists at music festivals, the Dubai World Cup which consists in several horse races with the world's best riders, and the Dubai International Film Festival that shows films from all over the world.

Dubai is one of the richest cities in the world with a lot of luxurious hotels, restaurants, nightclubs and shopping malls. However, not everything is wonderful because most of the population consists of workers that receive really bad wages and live in subhuman conditions. Another big problem in Dubai is the debt of $ 60 billion that the city government has with companies that financed the implementation of the extravagant architectural projects.

Even so, everyone should visit Dubai, because this city proves through its fantastic architecture that nothing is impossible to the humanity.

Cities

Brasilia is the capital city of Brazil and it was built in the 60's as a promise made by the ex-president of Brazil Juscelino Kubitschek. It is widely known that the city is famous for its buildings that were idealized by the architect Oscar Niemeyer. Some of the most famous local landmarks are the National Congress, the Cathedral, the Alvorada Palace where the president stays and the JK Bridge. Unfortunately, it is recognized that Brasilia is also famous for its corruption.

A lot of important events happen in Brasilia, for an example the parade of September 7. In addition, Brasilia is said to be the capital of rock because of the famous rock groups that were formed in the city as " Legião Urbana" and "Capital Inicial" . Those bands gave notoriety to the city and nowadays a lot of rock concerts happen in Brasilia.

Brasilia is the political center of Brazil and that’s why the city is always on the news. Principally because of the corruption that gives a bad impression of the city and gets down the population. Another problem is the violence that has increased a lot in the last years. It is thought that the violence is more common in the small cities around Brasilia that grew without control of the government. Furthermore, the number of cars in Brasilia has extended, making the avenues get clogged.

In Brasilia there are no beaches, just a lake. Even so, people that are from the other states come to visit the capital of Brazil. Also, there are a lot of places where people can have fun as the nightclubs and the "Pontão do Lago Sul" that gets together a haphazard collection of different types of people. There are teenagers that go there to hang out with their friends and adults that go to " Pontão" to eat at the good restaurants. There is no doubt that theaters are other attractions in Brasilia that make a lot of people enjoy the city. As you can see Brasilia is a nice city and it has problems as all the important cities in the world. Even so, Brasilia is awe-inspiring and it attends all tastes.

Brasília

Brasília, the capital of Brazil, is reference for urban planning. The city was planned by Lucio Costa and designed by Oscar Niemeyer. It is widely recognized that the architecture of the city is really modern and also revolucionary. It atracts lots of people that want to see National Congress, "Palácio da Alvorada", "Palácio do Planalto", "Praça dos Três Poderes", The Cathedral of Brasília, Juscelino Kubistschek bridge and Paranoá Lake, the artificial lake of Brasília.

There is no doubt that Brazil's capital has a complete infrastructure to host any kind of event. Normally the city hosts political events, music performances, movie festivals. In addition, on April 21, aniversary of the city usually it's made a huge party for the population with a lot of shows of famous national singers.

However, the capital appears to have problems too. Though it was originally projected to have 500,000 inhabitants but nowadays it has over 2 million. The overpopulation seems to have caused the emergence of poor areas, with no infrastructure for people who live there; urban violence and out of work too.

Even so, people who like a calm city with lots of family programs to do, a lot of parks, clubs and tourist points to visit will love the city. On the other hand, there is space for a hectic night life too, with bars, shows and night clubs.

Great City

The USA has the majority of the most well-known cities in the world, like New York, Washington D.C, Los Angeles, Las Vegas etc. Anyway, one city has been improving a lot and has already made its acknowledgedment around the world, this city is Orlando-FL. Orlando is mainly known for its playgrounds but also for the people's happiness and the great atmosphere. Visiting Orlando it's an achievement of life for some children(because of the amazing playgrounds) and for adults(to relax a little bit in this smooth city).
Tourism runs the city through the entire year, receiving people from all over the world every day. This place is perfectly prepared to tourism. With its population of 230 519 citizens, Orlando never stops. Even when the tourists came in the peak of vacations, there is still no traffic problems, same security, same atmosphere, the shopping malls keep bustling, nevertheless, you don't feel sufocated by the amount of people inside it.
How ever Orlando isn't heaven in earth. The weather isn't regular because of the tropic zone it is in, and the sudden change of clime can turn your day awful. Besides the weather ther is another thing that ins't good about Orlando which is the low number of parking lots.
Even so Orlando is the right spot for those people who love having fun, quiteness and beaultiful architecture. You can enjoy the parks, the outlets, the great hotels, the big shopping malls, the sports games in that place. It's a lovely city.

Sao Paulo

Sao Paulo is the main financial center, corporate and commercial Latin America, it is the largest city in Brazil and arround the Southern hemisphere. It is the 14th most global city on the planet, receiving the rank of alpha world city by the Globalization and World Cities Study Group & Network.
Sao Paulo is complete, all that you seek is there. It has the bests clubs, bests restaurants and the best shopping centers in Brazil. It also has important monuments, parks and museums such as the Latin American Memorial, the Museum of the Portuguese Lenguage, MASP, the Ibirapuera Park, the Botanical Garden of Sao Paulo and high profile events like the International Art Biennial, the Brazil Grand Prix Formula 1 and Sao Paulo Fashion Week. And if this were not enought, Sao Paulo has 280 cinemas, 120 theaters, 71 museums and 39 cultural centers.
However, it is considered the "land of the drizzle"; the climate of Sao Paulo is considered subtropical, with decreased rainfall in winter and annual average temperature of 19.25˚C, with mild winters and summers with high temperatures, increased by the effect of pollution and the high concentration of buildings. And speaking of pollution, air pollution in the city is intense, mainly due to the huge number of cars circulating daily in the city.Besides the air pollution the city is also suffering from water pollution, concentrating on its two main rivers, the river Pinheiros and Tiete River, which are highly polluted.
Nevertheless,
if you're looking for great shopping, fine hotels, hospitality and all the comforts of a big city, Sao Paulo is the place!

restaurant

In Brasilia, we have many kinds of restaurants and all of have differences. For example: the space, the kind of food, the clientele and the decoration. One restaurant that makes me comfortable was Arbys.

Arbys is part of my history with my family and I have good memories about this place, but for one reason Arbys doesn’t exist in Brasilia anymore. When I was seven years old, my family and I used to go there every Sunday. We always went to Country club and after that we went to Arbys to have lunch, it was a good program and we had a lot of fun together.

Arbys was located in Asa Norte, a neighborhood not far from my house. The service that the restaurant offered was so fantastic because they had fast food and we didn’t have to do anything only order and sit. I like this kind of places, because you don’t need to worry to make reservations, you just decide and go, and the best thing that this restaurant is not so expensive, it had a good price and everybody could go there.

I remember the decoration of Arbys very well. They changed the decoration every month, and they associated this decoration sometimes to a film or some television program. I spent a lot of time there because the sandwiches were different and when you choose some kind of a sandwich they gave to children a gift like a toy and I just loved it.

Nowadays, we don’t eat Arbys anymore because it’s closed, but every time that I go to United States and have the opportunity to eat this kind of food for sure we go there. I have good memories of my past and my family.

Don Francisco

Don Francisco is a traditional restaurant in Brasilia; it is located in Park Shopping, Patio Brasil and Asa Sul. The most popular is the one in Park Shopping in the left side of the area that all the restaurants are.

When you have lunch there you can choose a dish from the menu or you can eat the food that is in the buffet, but at night you can only choose dishes from the menu. In addition, the food is sophisticated as the place is, but there are no reasons for you to worry about it because the food is delicious.

The atmosphere is really comfortable and it welcomes you. Also, the waiters are really efficient and funny, which makes you enjoy the place even more. Consequently, the restaurant is a little filled at lunch time, so if you want sit at a good table you should arrive early or you will have to wait for a table. Although if your wish is to have a calm meal you can go have dinner there, also at night you can see how tastefully the decoration of the restaurant is.

The restaurant is a little pricey. Moreover the clientele is different from other places. Usually, you see groups of entrepreneurs and in most of the times, families having meal there. A dish that I recommend is the salmon with potatoes; by the way it is one of the best options of the restaurant. Well, I hope you enjoy my description and I expect you to go check if you agree with me. In addition, eating there was a really good experience and that is what I wish for you.

Mangai

This restaurant is located in Lago Sul, near "Ponte JK" that is one of the most beautiful buildings in Brasília. Mangai is very big and it serves all types of brazilian food you can imagine. Also, the history of the place is amazing. There are a lot of objescts, clothes, that tell us about the brazilian "cangaceiros".

There are a lot of tables, but you should better make reservations to have dinner there. The atmosphere of the place is awsome, lights, big chairs to rest, hammacks, everything that makes it more homey. It is a buffet restaurant, but you have to order what you want to drink with one of Mangai's waiter, hwo will always be dressed like a "cangaceiro", by ringing a little bell under the table.

To eat there, you should be very hungry, because there are almost ten types of rice, beans, meat, pork, chicken, and salad too. You will certainly find what you like. The best part comes with the dessert, all types of ice cream made with native fruits, cakes and some delicious brazilian desserts like "rapadura" and "doce de leite".

The clientele just loves the restaurant, it is not expensive and it is well-located, but also it brings our brazilian culture, and our brazilian way of doing things.

Chique-Chique

Chique-Chique is a well-located restaurant in Brasilia. Actually it is located in 108 sul, near CTJ.They serve delicious food and have an enormous clientele. In other hand, if you arrive too late you'll probably have to wait about an hour, but if you arrive at about 12:00 you'll get a table without waiting.
The waiters are very kind and the food comes quickly. Their best dishes are a mouth-watering four-cheese lasagna and a delicious vanilla ice-cream covered with strawberry sauce. However, their special dish is a homemade meat served with rice, beans and butter.

Unbelievably, it's not pricey! The structure is really well-located, it is spacious and quiet, and the atmosphere is really homie. I really would recommend Chique-Chique if you are looking for a cheap restaurant with good food.

The Best Seafood

Zé Maria's inn located in Fernando de Noronha is a very pleasant place to be accommodated at the island. It is a wonderful place to have meals too. Some days of the week Zé Maria, that is really famous for his thematical dinners, opens his inn to other people who aren't accommodated there but are interested in the great atmosphere of his restaurant and in his exquisite food.

The restaurant of his inn is not very spacious but it's very cozy and tastefully decoratted with sea theme. What makes the atmosphere very pleasant is the fact that Zé Maria sits with his clientes to talk and see if everything is alright.

The menu is very diverse, there are a lot of spices prepared by Zé Maria and his helpers. You can eat there all kinds of typical foods: a delicious "camarão ao thermidor", a lot of different types of fish, squid, crab, all really and exotic.

In the beginning his dinners were exclusively for the lodgers of his inn but it became really famous and nowadays you can pay about R$ 200,00 to have this wonderful meal. It can seem a little pricey but you are not paying just for eat seafood, you are paying to have a delicious and unforgettable experience.

Bargaço: the best restaurant of Brasilia

Bargaço is the best restaurant of Brasilia. It is located in “Pontão do Lago Sul” and you still can find it in some other cities like Salvador, João Pessoa, Recife and Belo Horizonte. This restaurant has a beautiful rough decoration with some trees, a waterfall and a ground that is made of white stones. Also, the restaurant isn’t so big and it has a really big clientele so, if you want to have your dinner or lunch there, you should make a reservation beforehand.

The service in Bargaço is perfect because there are a lot of waiters in the restaurant. Consequently, when you arrive a waiter will take you to a table, after that, he will give you the menu and he will only receive new clients after you have made a request.

The best Bahian and sea’s food that I have ever tasted is in that wonderful restaurant. When I think about that food my mouth fills with water. So, when I’m hungry I just want to eat a marvelous “acarajé” that is served there. In addition, there you can find some other delicious food like “bobó de camarão”, “peixe cozido com verduras”, “camarão ao catupiry”, “lagosta ao Thermidor” and a special lobster. However, if you don’t like sea food, you can still eat there because it serves the best “file à parmegiana” of Brasília.

Bargaço is a really pricey restaurant but you should still eat there because the food is worth the price.

Galettos

Galettos is one of the greatest restaurants in Copacabana. It's right in front of the principal street. It's not so difficult to find it. The hard thing is to get into the restaurant because any time you go there, there is a medium line-waiting. But trust me, wait to eat there, worthed a lot.
Small is excatly the adjective to describe Galettos. There are two floors, however, there are few tables and one table is near the other. The waiters are very polite and attencious. If you have a doubt about choosing your food you can count on them. The place is very organized and clean. They usually put calm music and don't allow smoking inside Galettos. There are some beautiful pictures on the walls that make the decoration even more interesting. The clientele are well-dressed and it's prohibited to get in without a shirt or another clothe.
One of delights of this place is a brownie gatteau. A pettit gatteau that in the place os the chocolate cake, it's a brownie. It's so delicious that you don't want to stop eating it. There are food for all kind of tastes, starting with the traditional ones to the most exotic ones. Galettos is a restaurant to be returned to, time and time again. A place like this is not found on the next street.

Mangai

Everybody who is going to Lago Sul through JK bridge can see that strange enourmous construction with four high pillars around it. Mangai is on Lago Paranoa's shore and has a great view to the famous bridge.
When you arrive at the parking lot, you can see that it is always full and it becomes more apparent in the entrance of the restaurant. However, while you wait, you can appreciate the view or you can observe the curious decoration the restaurant has, even outside. There are some hammocks for the costumers to relax after eating and you start to have a great opinion and expectation on it.
Inside, you become more impressed with the decoration. There are straw chandeliers, clownish furniture, bananas on the walls and even old cars inside. After going into the restaurant, you realize how big it is and become marveled with the two huge counters full of more than one hundred different types of typical backwoods food.
Mangai has a really great atmosphere, and the great service compensates the high price it has. There is no way of leaving the restaurant dissatisfied with the food or with the animated waiter dressed like a "cangaceiro" that served you and that usually tells you the story of the girl who started selling "rapadura" in a little stall in João Pessoa.

Texas

It’s been a year my family and I went to Texas, a little restaurant in Terraço that serves Mexican food. We only went there because we were very hungry and Texas was the only food place opened at 11 AM in tem mall. In the beginning, I didn’t like it very much. I thought the decoration was awful, with all those big old red and green posters. In addition, there was a band playing salsa in a bizarre way.

Since it was too early to have lunch, we were the only customers in there, therefore, we were able to choose wherever we wanted to sit. We decided to sit near the window to enjoy the view. It’s true that it wasn’t the most beautiful view a restaurant could have, but it was very interesting to see people running in the streets to get the bus or arguing with someone on the phone. Looking through the window, I was lost in a reverie until my sister woke me up to ask me what I would like to drink.

It’s hard to say anything about the service of the restaurant, because the only time we went there the place was totally empty. Furthermore, Texas was a self-service restaurant, so that we only had to call the waiters to ask for something to drink.

What really surprised me was the quality of the food. Actually, that was the first time I ate Mexican food and all I have to say is that I had never eaten anything so exquisite. As a pepper lover, I couldn’t like more those spicy dishes. In spite of all those exotic flavors, the one that called more my attention was the guacamole taste, which was salty and sweet at the same time.

Having lunch at Texas was an amazing experience I would really like to repeat. That day it was more than proved that “looks can be deceiving”.

My memories

My memories

When I was a kid I was thin and blond, I was the third son of my parents but the first man (my father always told to the hall family that he wanted a son to play sports with him), my mother is a librarian and my father an economist. When I was born my mother quit her job to take care of me and my sisters.
One of my earliest memories was the smell of rain after a dry season, another memory, I went outside and I could feel of the wet earth. The other thing was when my father and his cousin from Argentina sang to me different songs, my father used to sing to me when I was a child and nowadays I still remember those songs because it sounded really funny.
On my street I used to ride with my parents and one of those times I met my best friend Matheus, we went to Maceio and we met each other in the beach, we had lots of fun together and when I went to school for the first time I discovered that he was in the same class as me, so I remember until now our adventures in school, we used to play soccer and studied together, but today is not equal to what it once was.

My childhood

I have a lot of memories of the time I was a little kid, I guess everyone has. From all those memories, I have separated one that is for me the most special... the first time I went to the beach.
I was six years old by the time I first went there and as I was born in the center of the country, in Brasília, the sea wasn't something very common to me. The people in the capital only have a lake called paranoá that is not even close compared to what the sea is. As opposed to the sea, "our" lake is useless, maybe that's the reason why the ocean is so important to me.
I still remember that feeling of that new experience. It was in Praia de Ponta Negra, Natal, north-east of the country. Since then, every summer vacation I would go there and stay at my uncle's house until the start of my regular classes at Brasília. I had very good moments there when I was a kid, in addition I still have. I'll never forget it.

Childhood

Childhood

I do have many memories from my childhood, but there are some of them I can remember very well.

I remember, when I was around 4 years old, I traveled by plane for the first time. I loved it. I didn´t even care about the air conditional which was very cold, because I was only interested in looking at the blue sky. When the plane landed,my dad took me to see a place that I had never visited: the cockpit.I was so enchanted that I decided to become an airplane pilot.

When I got older, around 10 years old, I started to invite my friends and my neighbors to go to my house on the weekends. We swam and jumped on a big trampoline that I still have in my house. At the end of the day my friends backed home and just Júlia, my best friend, stayed and slept with me. Of all the things we liked to do, the best one was imagine that we were airplane pilots. We went into a cardboard box and asked my mother to shake it.This way it seemed that we were in the middle of a turbulence.

Nowadays, every time I enter a plane, I remember my chilhood and how fun it was. Until  today, I wanted to be a pilot. Nevertheless now this is not my fist life plan, only a child dream that could become true.

My Childhood

I was born in 1994 in Brasília, where I still live. However, I used to live in an apartment in 205 sul but, when I turned 3, my family and I moved to a house in Park Way.
My house is made of wood, so I remember that in the beginning, it used to make noises in the cold. My garden was very big, so my brother and I used to play outside when the sky was blue and the weather was hot.
Since my father was rarely at home because he was a very busy businessman and my mom was always traveling, everybody used to see me with my nanny and my grandma. I have had a summer program in my street. There, I met my neighbor Nathália and we've found out that we were studying at the same school so we started going together.
Nowadays, my father spends more time at home and my mother stopped travelling. Furthermore, my grandma, that used to live with me, moved to an apartment in 310 sul. Finally, Nathália and I have changed school, so that our friendship is stroger than ever.

My childhood

My childhood is unforgettable to me. I will never forget each morning I used to wake up seven o’clock to see Teletubbies while I was eating my breakfast. I won’t forget the first time I saw my dog and it tried to bite me, and I will always remember when my mother tucked me in and kissed me wishing I had a good night. In addition, I will also remember the taste of the horrible vegetable soup that I had to eat once a week. It was really disgusting.

When I was younger, I used to play with my brother, my sister, my neighbor and my classmates. Therefore, I can’t complain that I hadn’t had a friend to play with. Moreover, another thing that will be in my memory for the rest of my life is the first time that my parents travelled without me. I remember that I was seven and that they went to Russia, Portugal and Spain spending two months there. Consequently, when they came home I was very happy that I gave them a big hug because I had missed them a lot. Furthermore, they also brought a Russian chocolate that smelt so bad that I didn’t eat.

I miss kindergarten. During nap time, my teacher put on a CD with some songs that my mother used to sing to me as well. Also, I used to dream that I would become a teacher. Nowadays, I don’t want to because I don’t like the idea of having to correct a lot of tests.

I really cherish the memories that I have from my childhood and I know that I have a lot of opportunities that a lot of people didn’t have. So, I will never forget the happiness that I had when I was a child.

Childhood Memories

I have a lot of good memories of my childhood. I was a happy child, with lots of toys and friends. Once a week, I used to go to a club near my house, to meet friends in the playground and have fun until 10 o’clock, the time to take a shower and prepare myself to go to school, to tell you the truth, be prepared by my mother. The most significant aspects of my childhood were in my school, it was like paradise for me. Nowadays, things are a little bit different, I want to go away from school as fast as I can. I remember there was a train in my school and all Fridays we used to go around the school on it. It was like magic, the railroads were behind playgrounds, on top of buildings, under classrooms, it was all around the school. There was a mini zoo in the school too, there were lots of animals, birds, insects in cages and we could go there in the break, but just with the teacher. I remember we had beds in case of somebody wanted to sleep. That school had everything to make us comfortable, and I spent 5 years there, and for me, magic and awesome years. Currently, I’m studying with my old friends from my first school because I’m at Sigma now, and most of the times, students from Montessori, my old school, go to sigma. My parents made the right choice for a school, and that’s why my brothers studied there too, and we all loved it! It’s very important how you care about your children, there are habits learned as a kid that will be present in all their lives, and with the certain education, it helps preparing their feelings and actions in the future, and it makes the difference.

My childhood

My parents always wanted to have a daughter and their wish became true in December 31, 1993, New Year's Eve. They spoilled me a lot during my childhood, which made my only and older brother really mean with me, just because of his jealousy. One of my earliest memories is crying in my mother's arms because my brother had hidden my toys in his room and didn't want to give me back.
I've lived most part of my childhood and life in the same house. There are a big backyard where I used to spend a lot of time playing with my friends (and sometimes with my brother), specially with my best friend and also neighboor Gabriela. We loved to play with barbies and used to imagine that we were like the dolls: tall, thin, blond, had a huge pink house and also a gorgeous boyfriend!
Now that I look back to my pastimes I see how amazing they were and how I miss it! My childhood was full of great moments but what I miss the most of it is the sensation of freedom I used to feel. I miss having no worries too and incrediblely, the over protection of my whole family (that all children receive)!

My Childhood

In my opinion, I was brought up solely by my father and my brother. My mother was always working or studying and when she was at home, she didn't stay with me, she was too tired. We used to live in an apartament and one of my memories there, is that my father used to cary me to my bed and tell me a story that he had invented. He always whistled when he left my bedroom which meant "good night". Now, he says some things whistling to me.
My brother anda I are very close and I remember when we moved to a house. We were playing ball at the garage and we broke my mother's plant. We were so afraid of my mother's reaction that when she arrived he told her that it was his fault and I told it was mine. My mother was so impressed we were protecting each other that she didn't do anything.
Well, I don't have just good memories. In 2007, I went to Florianópolis. My brother and I were jumping waves in the sea when we saw a little pink and purple thing. I tried to catch it and when I touched the thing, it burned me. It was a jelly fish. My brother tried to help me and he was burned by the jelly fish too. It was a terrible experience but in general, my childhood was full of hapiness. Especially because my father and my brother were always with me.

My Childhood

My mother always dreamed about having children. However, what she didn’t know was that her wish wouldn’t be easy to fulfill. When I was born, in 1994, she had already been through three pregnancies. Therefore my birth was an achievement not only for her, but for my father too, that also wanted to have kids. In spite of all the difficulty my mother had had to have children, they wanted to try once more in order to give me a sibling. Fortunately, this last pregnancy was much easier and, three years later, she gave birth to another girl.

I can still remember the moment my mother left home to give birth to my sister. In the beginning, I cried a lot, thinking she wouldn’t come back. However, as my aunt, that was going to take care of me while my mom was out, explained to me what was my mother going to do, I started smiling. In spite of what people usually think, I wasn’t jealous of my future sister, but happy, because she would be a good company to play with me.

When my sister was born, I was already going to school. In the beginning, it was really hard to leave home to stay with unknown people of my age. However, once I noticed something very interesting on the way to school: a high robot all made of car parts, which used to be in the entrance of a garage. It was love at first glance. Suddenly, I wanted to go to school every day just to see that beauty. I didn’t care if the robot was a little rusty and dirty, it became an idol for me.

Since I was very shy, I didn’t make many friendships in school. Fortunately, my neighborhood was full of kids of the same age as me, the only problem was that they were all boys. I really liked to play and to talk with them, however, as a girl, I also wanted to play girl games. When my sister was born, everything became easier and I finally found a way to figure it out. During the evening I enjoyed the sun light playing with the boys in the street and, at night, that I couldn’t be outside home anymore, my sister and I played with our Barbies.

There isn’t a better moment in life then childhood. That’s the time, when you can do whatever you want even what could be considered politically incorrect. Fortunately, my father recorded many tapes of when I was a kid. Watching them, I realize how much I miss that time and how much my life has changed since then. The fact is that time never comes back and, as Dan Brown said in his book Deception Point, “one day we all would have to get rid of our past and go ahead”.

My childhood

My childhood was amazing. I was a very happy child. I was born in Brasília at golden hospital. My first home was a big apartament and I had a lot of friends in my building, we used to play a lot. Me and my friends always wanted to build a treehouse but we never finished it. I used to play soccer and ride my bike without worring about the time. The feelling was so good.
My two best friends grew up next to me, we had never lost contact and this is one of the reasons that explains why I was so happy. Been with friends always made me feel better. One of my biggest emotions was in Rio de Janeiro. I traveled with my family just to watch my favorite team´s game,Flamengo. At the biggest soccer stadium of the world. I felt the sensation of watching the real soccer for the first time. After that, I went to Argentina. I had never felt so cold as I felt on that day, where I spent all the day sking on the montain. In the end,I was completly wet and my legs started shaking.
My memories are precious for me, my childhood was so good that I want to have the same felling when I were a child for my hole life. Childhood is very important for the formation of the person. The biggest part of the happiness of life is to remember the happiness of childhood.

My Childhood

I really liked my childhood and I think I wouldn’t change anything from it. There’re lots of things that I can still remember and when I think in them it causes me a really good sensation.

I was born in Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais but I moved to Brasilia when I was 3, so I was raise in Brasilia. When I was a child I didn’t like to play with little cars and even toys. What I really liked was to play soccer with my friends and go to their house to sleep there. I also enjoyed playing video games.

A sight that marked my childhood was a belvedere, a place , generally a mountain, where has a beautiful view, in Belo Horizonte that I still remember when I go there. It was in a mountain near my grandma’s house. Anther thing I still remember from my childhood is the smell of my grandma’s cookies. Every time she made the cookies ll of my cousins and brothers ran into the house to get one.

I've studied in te same school since I move to Brasilia, so I did lots of good friends here that I'm still in touch with them nowadays. I also remember my childhood when I listen to old songs of cartoons I used to watch. A thing I found really interesting is that I remember that I couldn't reach the switch plug of the bathroom and now, when I go there it's just as high as my forehead!

Memories

I remember my childhood not just with pictures, but with smells, sensations, tastes, colors, and especially emotions.

My first home I remember for being really hot, the sunrise getting trough the windown in the afternoon, and I always wore only diaper. My second home, I was seven years old, i lived with my mom and her parents in their house. I liked because there is a pool and I always loved water, especially the sea, and when I saw for the first time, I remember telling to my father: '' Daddy, it is a really big pool, isn't it? '' then I ran quickly to the sea, I loved go to the beach since there.

My memories from school are great, because I have friends today that I made when I was seven years old. Pamella is one of them, and the best memories I remember with her are when we slept in each other houses. Today we're still best friends, she's even my neighbor now, but we don't see each other a lot because this year we are in different schools.

I think that things pass, maybe things we had in our childhood never come back, but the memories are forever in our heart.

My Childhood

I have good memories from my childhood. Most of them are really funny principally because I have always been a shy kid. That’s why I was always involved in embarrassing situations. Well, I was born in Brasilia, in a hospital called São Braz. I lived my first year of life in an apartment. However I moved to a house that I lived in for fifteen years. Nowadays, I live in an apartment.
My house was nice and really comfortable. I used to play in the swimming pool with my sister. We would get some paper and make boats to pretend that we were pirates. I traveled by plane for the first time at the age of five. I spent one week in Natal, but what I will never forget about that trip is the first time that I saw the ocean. Also, I ate fish there and I liked it very much.
A color that I remember is the blue of the blue macaw, I saw that beautiful bird on a trip to Pernambuco, my father was holding it while my mom was taking pictures, I didn’t want to hold the macaw because I thought it would attack me.
The coldest day in my life was a monday, I woke up early because I had to go to CTJ, then I put two shirts and one coat to guarantee that I was going to feel comfortable. I also remember when Brazil won the World Cup of 2002, which was one of the happiest days in my life.
My childhood was really good and I enjoyed it a lot. I expect to continue having great times with my family.

My chilhood

Until I was 4, I lived in Asa Sul. My bedroom window had a tree right in front of it and I remember waking up with birds singing. My parents used to work all day, so I used to stay home with my nanny and my older brother.
Once, I was going to my best friend's house and it started to rain. I ran back home but, suddenly, it stopped and I saw something in the sky. I tried to count the colors but I was so hypnotized. That was the first time I saw a rainbow, I stayed a long time looking at it, like the first time I saw fireflies, it was incredible, even scaring me.
When I was 5, I had my first day at school and I remember seeing all the other new students crying and just smiling at my mother. There was a girl in the same class I was that took her rabbit to school. I remember touching that wonderful soft white hair, one of the best sensations I had that day and also in my chilhood.

Sweet Childhood

I have a lot of good memories from my childhood. I was a very shy and and impatient kid, but always nice and polite. There was somebody hwo was very important for me, my grandfather. He was an architect, so he was always teaching me how to draw, playing soccer with me and playing with little cars. I used to stay every weekend at his house, he was just the biggest man I had ever met.
Also, I still remember the first time I went to Disney. I was seven years old, and it was just wonderful, everything was new to me and I wanted to buy all single toy I saw there, specially in a store called "Toys'r Us", but the biggest surprise came on Christmas Day, I got my Game Boy Color. My parents gave it to me with the game "Pokemon" and i used to play it all day. Also, I was playing so much, that my mother said she would return it, so i stopped playing a hile and enjoyed the rest of my vacation.
One curious thing of my childhood was that I used to be afraid of blood, specially in blood tests. One time, when I was 4 years old, my mother said that I passed out when the doctor was taking my blood out.
Now, life is just too different, we have to study a lot, we have to think about our professional carrer, and we have a lot other things to care about, that's why a lot of adults say " I wish I were a kid again".
